One of the reasons Know-It-Alls are particularly difficult is that they often are the brightest bulb in the box. To deal most effectively with Know-It-All, remember:
1. Know-It-Alls defy your intellectual authority.
2. Take contempt in stride, consider the source, and use Know-It-Alls' desire to dispense information in your favor. Let them educate you and your staff.
3. Give your Know-It-All credit for knowing important information.
4. Get your Know-It-All involved in research and data gathering.
5. Encourage others to use the Know-It-All as a resource.
6. Share the Know-It-All with other departments.
