Even in such developed countries, pockets of happiness definitely do exist. A UK poll has discovered that the people of East Lothian in the Scottish countryside are the happiest in Britain. Rural dwellers feel safer in and away from their homes, believe there is more of a community spirit in them and are happier with services such as garbage collection and street cleaning. They are even more content than folks living in rural France and Spain, places considered the dream foreign destinations of many Scots seeking the good life.
