- Pastry (below)
- 1/4 pound ground beef, crumbled
- 1/4 cup chopped potato
- 1/4 cup chopped carrot
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- Milk
- Chili sauce
2. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Place beef, potato, carrot and onion on half of the circle to within 1 inch of edge; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
4. Brush edge of pastry with water.
5. Fold pastry over filling; fold bottom edge of pastry over top edge of pastry.
6. Seal and flute.
7. Make slits in top of pastry; brush with milk.
8. Bake in 350ยบ oven until golden brown, about 1 hour.
9. Serve with chili sauce.
PASTRY:
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cold water
2. Sprinkle in water, 1 teaspoon at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and pastry almost cleans side of bowl.
3. Gather pastry into a ball.
