CHEESY BAKED POTATO

  • 1 medium potato
  • Margarine or butter
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons shredded pasteurized process cheese spread loaf


1. Prick potato with fork to allow steam to escape. 

2. If desired, rub with shortening for softer skin. 

3. Cook in 350ยบ oven until soft, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. 

4. Cut crisscross gash in top; squeeze gently until some potato pops up through opening. 

5. Top with margarine and cheese. 


To Microwave:

1. Prick 1 medium potato with fork to allow steam to escape. 

2. Place on paper towel in microwave.

3. Microwave uncovered on high (full) power until tender, 11 to 13 minutes. 

4. Let stand 1 minute.
