How good are you at getting along with others? Psychologist David G. Myers asked a group of men to rate their "ability to get along with others." Here's what they thought:
a. 25 percent believed they got along with others better that 99 percent of the population did.
b. 60 percent believed they got along with others better than 90 percent of the population did.
c. 0 percent, amazingly, believed their ability to get along with others was below average.
While most people apparently assume they are better than others at dealing with people, few actually deal well with difficult people. Employees need to be aware of how they interact and how others perceive them.
