WORKING WITH A LIAR

It is difficult to work with a Liar because of the erosion of a sense of trust. Liars have a tendency to be evasive and withhold important information from you, as well as telling outright lies. In dealing with a Liar, remember the following tips.

1. Do keep excellent records of your suspicions as they arise.

2. Don't get yourself into trouble; you want to avoid becoming a target of blame or wrongdoing.

3. Do get your boss involved if the Liar is a peer or subordinate. If necessary, contact human resources and file a complaint with them as well.

4. Do appeal to the Liar's need to exert his power.

5. Do try and diminish the Liar's tendency to be unethical and dishonest.

6. Do think about what risks are involved in trying to expose the Liar.
