A common complaint from customers is that their phone messages aren't passed on. This can be very frustrating and it shows a lack of communication within a business. Typically, a customer may ring with a query and the message will be passed on to the relevant person. After a period of time the customer rings again to chase up the query, only to be told that no one has received the message and the whole process has to start again.
Information needs to flow freely throughout a business. If telephone messages aren't getting through, find out why. Your customers will soon go elsewhere if a simple task such as passing on a message cannot be completed. What does it say about your business?
Information flows through many departments in larger companies and often there can be problems with one particular department. By talking to your customers and tracking down the problem area, you can usually make a few simple operational changes that will solve the problem.
